PLANNED PROJECTS

Dandelion Project

This project is to provide fully funded family trips/activities, each week of the school holidays. These days out allow families to spend quality time with each other whilst building friendships and learning essential life skills. These activities will bring military families together thus building their social and support network.

1

After School Clubs

Across the North East there are service children in state schools where they are a minority. We plan to run after school clubs at 2 local schools, delivering sport and outdoor adventure to increase confidence and resilience, promote social inclusion, reduce loneliness and support parents with young peoples mental health through our other projects.

2

MHFA Youth Courses

The Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are for anyone who works with, lives with or supports young people aged 8-18. It trains the adults in a young person’s life to have the skills and confidence to step in, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, they can speed up a young person’s recovery, stop issues from developing into a crisis, and ultimately save lives.

Youth Counselling

We plan to support the children and young people of our Armed Forces Community by offering a specialist counselling service. Whether you or your partner are currently serving in the Armed Forces or have previously served, we plan to offer this service to all children and young people aged 5 - 18. This service will offer support on a wide range of wellbeing and mental health issues.

MHFA Armed Forces

This is a specially designed course for our Armed Forces. Depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and alcohol misuse can impact on the mental health of serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. This course provides the basis for increased mental health resilience amongst veterans and the families of both veterans and serving personnel throughout the UK.
